Why does my gauge differ from the app?

The app shows NOAA radar estimates for a 1 km square. Two real gauges less than 2 km apart differ by about 0.07 inch a day on average, and summer storms change within a mile. Set your reading time to when you empty your gauge, and type in your readings: after a few rainy days FieldRain learns how the radar runs at your spot.

What do Preliminary and Corrected mean?

NOAA publishes a first radar pass about 20 minutes after each hour and a gauge-corrected pass about an hour later. Preliminary numbers can still move, most often down a little. Corrected numbers are final.

Where does it work?

The contiguous United States. Snow is measured as melted water and can be less accurate.

Subscriptions

Manage or cancel in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions on your iPhone. To move a subscription to a new device, open FieldRain Settings and tap Restore purchases.

Sharing places with your crew

On the Farm plan, open Settings, tap Share place list and send the file. The other person opens it in FieldRain to get the same places.
